You may or may not have heard about Facebook’s newly designed video hub rolling out in the next upcoming weeks! The video hub will stream live as well as pre-recorded videos, and will allow viewers to comment and utilize Facebook's six reaction emojis to express what they think of the livestreams! Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO, said "Live is like having a TV camera in your pocket. Anyone with a phone now has the power to broadcast to anyone in the world. When you interact live, you feel connected in a more personal way. This is a big shift in how we communicate, and it's going to create new opportunities for people to come together."
Facebook’s live broadcast allows you view previously recorded videos as well as live ones. It also comes with some really cool features such as the option to get creative with filters and effects, join in with live reactions and go live yourself with just one click! Hovering emojis that appear as views react to videos are also something you won’t likely miss when watching a live streaming…I gotta say, it couldn’t get more exciting!!!
After Facebook announced its new broadcasting feature which has caught the attention of marketers worldwide, questions were raised:
Being a Facebook hot topic, marketers must now figure out exactly what and when they need to market products and how to use “Facebook live” to its full advantage. Jason Stein, CEO of digital agency Laundry Service commented saying “I think brands will set up studios for their livestreams to take place, and I think many livestreams will take place on location and at events. That's a creative decision,". Marketers will obtain stats on how many people watched their broadcast live, as well as mine other engagement metrics. And that’s not all…Facebook promises to pay content creators for livestreaming their videos on its platform! Now that definitely beats all…
With Facebook being the world’s largest social media phenomenon, YouTube could actually be at risk. Offering both live and previously filmed videos along with all the other features that puts this social media site apart from others, it would be safe to say, Facebook will simply be ahead of the game.
With Facebook’s new live broadcasting video "You end up with the global live video network that automatically shows the live videos you want to see most. Just wait until this live video hub is unbundled into a TV app."
So what do you think about the new Facebook Live? Get ready to see the world through someone else’s’ eyes folks!
